Over a billion people turn to YouTube every single month to watch videos, from music, to late-night TV show clips, to news, sports, pet videos, and to how-to videos on cooking and makeup application.  The YouTube stars that have emerged are trailblazers in this new media platform known as“streampunks.”

“Because YouTube is focused on a lot of different types of content at the same time, it has many opportunities, and the hardest thing is to figure out which ones you shouldn’t do, and focus on the ones you should.”

Streampunks: YouTube and the Rebels Remaking Media, Kyncl, in collaboration with Google speechwriter Maany Peyvan, details the rise of YouTube and the stars of the streaming world,  the creative minds who have capitalized on it to become pop culture stars, and how streaming video is revolutionizing the media world.
